The Selkirk Town Centre BID will work to make Selkirk a destination of choice for both local people and visitors from other areas of the Borders and beyond. By working together to both make improvements to the town centre and market the town as a whole more effectively, BID will seek to increase footfall and to encourage visitors to linger longer and explore Selkirk more fully.
Other Town Centre BIDS have:
- Improved parking and traffic control
- Organised events aimed at driving footfall
- Improved signage
- Developed inclusive Town Centre marketing campaigns including websites and social media accounts
- Used collective procurement to get a better deal on service and utility costs
These are examples of what other towns have achieved. Selkirk Town Centre businesses will decide collectively what projects are taken forward through the Selkirk Town Centre BID.
